Eamon Saunders, Barrister
Eamon Saunders is a member of our litigation team. He joins us with over 30 years' experience with the Department of Justice. During that time he worked in all areas of the Department but spent the bulk of it dealing with Garda policy matters. He was Secretary of the Committee to Review the Offences Against the State Acts. He was centrally involved in the establishment of the Morris Tribunal and other Commissions of Investigation, drafting the Garda Síochána Act 2005, handling civil actions against the State and Garda Compensation cases. Most recently, Eamon was Ireland's Justice attaché at the Irish Embassy in Washington D.C.
His wealth of experience across the justice sector will now be harnessed and exercised for the benefit of our clients. His personal touch, good humour and warm personality are consistent with the spirit and values here at Hughes Murphy.
Out of the court setting, Eamon and his wife Bride are well known in basketball circles having achieved great success over many years with their club, Delta Notre Dame. Eamon's other passion is motorcycling. He likes nothing better than heading out for a spin on his Harley - "that's why God created weekends!"
